Summary & Review

Ugh, okay. If you read my review of book 1, Insatiable, you’ll already know I’m a huge fan of Leigh Rivers’s writing, as well as the narration. The first book was perfection. And this one? ALSO PERFECTION. How does Leigh Rivers do it? Is she a witch? (No shame, for real 🖤 Witches are cool)

After that cliffhanger at the end of book 1, I was so sure that once I listened to this one, I’d get some much-needed clarity and closure. But NO. Leigh Rivers continues to deliver such a wild and intense story that as soon as you get closure for one thing, you’re thrown into something else entirely and have no idea how to move forward. I LOVE IT. This is some of the most intense, emotional, and beautiful writing I’ve ever experienced.

Thank you for giving us more of this story and thank you, wonderful narrators, for continuing to breathe life into these complex and flawed characters. All of you are so wonderful and have made this an entire experience that is honestly beyond words. Fucking phenomenal, all of you – the author, the narrators, the people behind the scenes who brought this masterpiece to life. Every single one of you.

In this story, we continue to follow the heartbreaking story of Kade and Stacey. Their hate, their passion, their miscommunication and trauma – all of it is written in such a beautiful and tragic way that I’m not sure we readers will ever recover. How could we? They deal with so much.

And those side characters? I love them all. They all play such huge and impactful roles in the story overall. Every single character in this book is flawed and raw and honestly themselves. I truly cannot explain how much I love Leigh Rivers’s writing and how beautifully she writes even the worst of characters (I’m talking about YOU, Chris. You bastard).

This book is the perfect addition to the series, but yes – it leaves you wanting more. Always more. But hey, book 3 is already out and available and I definitely already purchased it because I cannot move on until I’ve finished this wild ride.

Let’s dive into book 3, Restitution, and see how things end, shall we? Will we finally get closure? A HEA? God, I hope so, but I guess we’ll see, won’t we? 😉
