Summary & Review
Jacklyn Parker, you entertaining writer. How do you continue to create these entertaining and all-encompassing stories with characters who are flawed and perfect at the same time? Are you magic?
But really, this book was a beautiful continuation of the first one, The Bloke. Dallas and Bria are a mess. Both want very different things, but they find a way to make it work for them. They’re both so confident and sure, I absolutely love it. For real, that might be my favorite part of Parker’s stories – As someone who has been self-conscious for most of their life, I absolutely adore and love the fact that both men and women are comfortable and confident. I cannot express enough how much I adore this! So thank you, Jacklyn Parker, for cherishing your characters and making them real.
I really love the fact that I had never heard either of these narrators before this book. And they were both SO GREAT. Amanda L’Orien and Caden Hart made a wonderful pair. I will say the ONE complaint I have is that when Caden’s character, Dallas, is getting *busy*, he breathes hard. I don’t think it’s a narration issue because he was wonderful, but more likely a sound booth/ Mic type of issue. Other than the sometimes-unnecessary/ over-the-top breathing sounds, the narration was top-notch and enjoyable. š¤
I cannot wait to continue this series with book 3, The Gentlemen, featuring James Cassidy & Savannah Thomas – both fantastic and talented narrators!!
