Summary & Review
This story was a cute little romcom with a strong miscommunication trope. If the two main characters just opened up and talked about what was going on, this story probably would’ve only been 50 pages. Granted, that’s not fun and us readers do love some tension!
This book is told in 1st person POV, alternating between Mira and Hudson. Mira, a wedding photographer whose career is in a downward spiral after an incident with her best friend, is anxious and struggling. She starts going to Finn’s bar regularly, where Hudson is working. Hudson is a charming, though not very talented, bartender. The two hit it off right away, always flirting and talking and just generally enjoying each other’s company. On Hudson’s last night bartending, he and Mira end up at his apartment. Though, not much actually happened.
From here, there’s a lot of miscommunication and tricky situations. Honestly, it was a fun read, and I thought the monologue and chemistry were well done.
I will admit that while I do enjoy a good HEA, I prefer my endings to be more realistic. I mean, an ending can be heartfelt without being so perfect, ya know? But if you’re looking for a perfectly wrapped up ending where everyone wins, this is the book for you! It’s the type of ending where every character has some sort of realization and makes changes and ultimately decides to be a totally different, better person.
So yeah, I would recommend this book to any RomCom reader who loves a good HEA. This book is sweet and charming and super easy to get into. The characters are interesting and the plot is fun. 🖤
