Summary & Review
The Ballad of Falling Dragons was a wonderful sequel. We immediately picked up where we had left off in book 1, making it a seamless transition back into that world.
I loved that we got to meet some more characters in this book. I really enjoyed getting to read about Roan, Borg, and Ahvi, specifically. And I loved getting to know Pyrok more because he’s quite the character. Honestly, I also loved getting more page time of the villainous characters, such as Tyroth and The Scavenger King. I feel like those chapters really helped form a more well-rounded hate for their characters.
In this story, it’s predicted than many moons will fall, and soon. It will cause a lot of catastrophic damage. Unfortunately, the group can’t just hide out in safety until it’s over because they have a kingdom to warn and try to protect, as well as dangerous situations to deal with.
Raeve continues having to deal with her blood bind and the struggle to decide whether she wants to look inside herself to recover some of her missing past. She’s still a wonderfully fiesty FMC and I love that about her.
In a lot of romantasy books, it often feels like once the main characters get together, they both become less of the badasses they were and more mushy/ soft. Which is okay sometimes, but I really prefer characters like Raeve, who will continue to be awesome despite her relationship status. š¤
Sarah A. Parker gave us a couple nice twists and unexpected turns. I really enjoyed those and they made me more eager for the next book to be written and released because I need to know what’s going to happen next!
