This book is about the day dragons showed up on Earth. Need I say more?
No, really. I love dragons and I’m always excited when they’re the focal point of a story. 🖤
Dragon Day is a wonderful piece of fiction. It revolves around the day that dragons emerged and basically took over the world. They destroyed towns and killed people and it was total chaos.
But this story is told through Interviews, which I just loved. It’s like World War Z, but dragons instead.
I loved learning about the day the dragons surfaced. There was terror and amazement, along with the fear that things would never return to normal. Families were separated, buildings destroyed, and all anyone could do was watch, try to survive, and share their story.

Summary & Review
I really loved this book. I initially gave it 4 stars, but I finished it weeks ago and have thought about it so much since then. I decided to raise it to 5 stars after the way it’s left its impression on me.
The interview style of this story was phenomenal, and I still think back to how well the narrators all did. They were so convincing and human that it was emotional and felt raw, despite being total fiction.
Getting the background story for so many people who had first person accounts of the events was a blast. Getting to see into their minds and learn how they managed to survive was so interesting and I loved that every story was so different. No two characters had the same experience, so getting to hear all the various stories gave us a well-rounded story and retelling of events.
I cannot wait to find more books written like this and to explore what else Bob Proehl has written because I’m a huge fan of his writing. 😁
